Umar joined Sabinsa Europe GmbH in 2014 as Technical Sales Manager, and was named Resident Director in 2018. He received a Doctorate in Biophysical Chemistry from Goethe University, Frankfurt am Main, Germany, and an Executive MBA degree from Mannheim Business School. He worked at distinguished international research institutes including the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore and European Molecular Biology Laboratory, Heidelberg. As a Post-doctorate fellow he was selected for the European fellowship CO-FUND Marie Curie and EMBO-long term fellow. Peer-reviewed journals in which his articles have been published include Nature, Nature Methods, Nature Communications, EMBO and JBC.
